The Federation
The GCC Common Market aims to ensure full equality among GCC citizens in all economic activities across member states—embodying the concept of Gulf economic citizenship. It is based on Article Three of the Economic Agreement, which stipulates that GCC natural and legal persons shall be treated equally to nationals in any member state, without discrimination, particularly in the following economic fields:
- Freedom of movement and residence.
- Employment in public and private sectors.
- Social insurance and retirement benefits.
- Practicing professions and trades.
- Engaging in all economic, investment, and service activities.
- Property ownership.
- Capital movement.
- Tax treatment.
- Trading and purchasing shares, and establishing companies.
- Education, healthcare, and social services.
